I feel I have to add a note here about the "Shoemaker's Children."  In doing so, I'd love to add a link to the story behind the proverb, but the proverb itself is so ubiquitous in online marketing materials that I'm finding it difficult to locate a hypertext copy - even on Wikipedia.  As penance for using a Google Site as my family's online hub, I plan to contribute to the web a page of the actual story and any historical information I can find on it; that should set my soul at ease.  -Steve
